Dreams of Oak Ridge Students - DOORS

Dreams of Oak Ridge Students - DOORS On January 14, 2022 Tennessee’s Secretary of State granted DOORS’ 501(c)(3) non-profit tax status on January 14, 2022.

Unwavering goal of enrolling 100% of our participants in post-secondary education, while being recognized by our teachers, our community, and experts in our industry as the best program in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. It is through the creation of an interconnected network of Oak Ridge Schools, neighborhoods, businesses, and churches that everyone involved is able to help one another out through this com

mon thread of community engagement and support. Streams of revenue and monetary donations for DOORS stem from various sources, both consistent and non-consistent. Beyond the obvious revenue stream of received payments in exchange for providing lawn care and maintenance services, DOORS would expands this with a “Pay-What-You-Can” business model for accepting customer payment to cater to veterans, elderly, and clientele across the various income brackets in Oak Ridge. The revenue received from lower-income households that pay what’s within their means would be sustained and balanced out by the more affluent families that do the same. THE IMPACT
By creating a program to help mitigate financial barriers for students seeking higher education opportunities after high school, while simultaneously addressing problems of landscaping in low-income neighborhoods, DOORS would work toward lowering the local poverty level. The result of this positive, social impact will be aimed toward maintaining the curb appeal of communities with lower incomes. Since this is a community-centered organization, having and maintaining strong connections with those outside of DOORS and in the Oak Ridge area is crucial to the success of and longevity of DOORS and its initiatives.

Friends, neighbors, fellow Oak Ridgers,

Today, our hearts are so extremely heavy from the mass shooting. This city may be small, but community bonds run DEEP! We mourn with the Scarboro Community, a place where community isn't just a word, it's a way of life.

The recent tragedy has shaken everyone, leaving scars that may never fully heal. There’s at least 6+ wounded by the mass shooting by gunshot. We send our deepest condolences and unwavering support to you! We also send prayer to you and your loved ones who also are now facing unimaginable pain.. Please reach out and stay strong 💪🏾 🙏🏾 💔

Words cannot express the sorrow we feel, but we must channel our grief into action. Youth gun violence is a crisis that demands our immediate attention. We need open and honest conversations, increased access to mental health support, and responsible event planning that protect our children and communities!

If there’s any Oak Ridge schools or community organizations, especially local residents/home owners of the community want to collab to help promote positive relationships, conflict resolution, and mentorship let’s do it. Let’s collab to create a safer environment for our community.

Let’s create a future where no community has to endure such devastation.
