Hello Everyone,

October is our New "31 Days of Giving!"

Every year, Almost Home holds a 31 Days of Giving in December to restock our pantry. Thanks to your incredible generosity last year, we had so many amazing donations that we didn't even need to host the event!

Because the number of people we serve each week continues to grow—this past Monday alone, we welcomed 109 people for dinner and served 82 people in the pantry—keeping our shelves stocked is more important than ever. We've shifted this campaign to October to help beat the holiday rush and ensure our pantry is prepared for the increasing need.

How You Can Help

You can choose to purchase one item a day for 31 days or grab everything all at once—whatever works best for your schedule and budget!

Shop Online or In-Store: Most items can easily be found at your local dollar store, or you can order online. (Keep an eye out for Amazon Prime Days this October!)

Please see the list of the top 31 most-needed pantry items.

You can drop off at 9230 S. Pulaski Rd, Oak Lawn (Back Door).
Mondays (12:30 PM – 7:00 PM) or Tuesday through Friday (12:30 PM – 5:00 PM)

Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving
Help make sure every family can enjoy a warm Thanksgiving dinner at home this year. Keep an eye out for details on how to sponsor a family’s holiday meal box!

Thanksgiving Dinner Volunteers Needed
We need extra hands to make our Thanksgiving meal extra special! Sign-up opportunities are coming soon.

Almost Home Silent Auction. We have lots of goodies to auction off. We can’t wait to share more about it.

Giving Tuesday — December 3rd
Mark your calendars! On this global day of giving, your support will help fuel our community programs throughout the winter.

Adopt a Nursing Home Friend
Spread warmth and cheer to local seniors! Sign up to fill a holiday Christmas Stocking with essential personal care items and special treats.

Adopt a Child from the Community Help ensure every child feels loved and remembered this holiday season by fulfilling a child’s wish list!

Almost Home Christmas Party — December 21st
Join us for a festive celebration! We will also be sharing details soon on how to Adopt a Friend from our Stone Soup Kitchen to bring extra holiday magic to our friends.

All you need to do is select a square(s) from the 100 square grid. Numbers will be drawn this Saturday by 8pm so you are ready for the game Sunday at noon. Winner is based on the ones digit in the quarterly scores of each game. If you played in our Superbowl Pool last year it works the same way.

Each square costs just $25.
Payouts are as follows:

Hello Everyone,

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who dropped off the first wave of our 31 Days of Giving bags this week! 💙 You truly have no idea how much this helps keep our pantry stocked.

The reality in our community right now is that the need is greater than ever. The number of individuals and families we see each week continues to climb. To put it into perspective: we stock our shelves on Monday morning, and by Monday evening, they are completely empty again.

We cannot do this without your compassion and partnership. 🙏 If you haven't had a chance yet, there is still time to get involved! You can purchase items directly off our 31 Days of Giving list and help us keep pace with the demand.
