The recent storms brought severe weather to our area and we hope you remained safe over the past 48 hours. Oak Lawn 3405 was out on the front lines around the clock.

Over the past two days Oak Lawn Professional Firefighters Local 3405 responded to a staggering 246 calls to help keep our community safe. To put that into perspective

Average Year: over 10,000+ 911/EMS/Fire Calls

Normal Day: A typical, busy 24-hour shift averages about 28 calls.

The Storm: Roughly 9 days' worth of emergencies in just 48 hours.

A massive thank you to our dispatchers, firefighters, and police who worked tirelessly through the wind, rain, and hazards.

Yesterday was one of our busier days in recent memory as we responded to 133 total calls for service related to the storms, in addition to our regular call volume.

A special thank you to our dispatch center Oak Lawn Regional Emergency Communications and chief officers for their hard work, coordination, and dedication throughout the day. Their efforts behind the scenes helped keep operations running smoothly and ensured resources were deployed where they were needed most.

It takes a team effort to serve our community, and we're proud of everyone who stepped up and answered the call. Stay safe today as another day of storms is ahead of us, and as always we are here when you need us.

The ruck raises and donates all funds to mental health and su***de prevention initiatives through the Reel Warriors Foundation and the Frankfort VFW Post 1493
