We're continuing to introduce the people behind FCCF. This is Mike Cassidy. After a career as a CPA and CFO, Mike chose to make Fayette County home because of the things many of us love most about this place: great people, outdoor adventure, and a strong sense of community.

Mike stays active in that community as a river guide, occasional guest staff member at local restaurants, and volunteer. He also enjoys traveling and is always looking forward to his next cruise.

As FCCF's Treasurer, Mike combines financial expertise with a passion for Fayette County and the people who make it such a special place to live. We're glad he's part of the team.

Thanks for letting me tag along! Always fun when you’re doing good.

Over the past few days, we've seen neighbors helping neighbors across Fayette County.

While making a stop today, we saw our friends from Canyon Rim Rotary Club gathering supplies to support flood recovery efforts. They were just one example of the many organizations, volunteers, businesses, first responders, and community members stepping up to help.

Moments like these remind us that one of our community's greatest strengths is the willingness of people to show up when others need them.

To everyone helping with cleanup, donating supplies, checking on neighbors, or supporting recovery efforts in any way, thank you. Fayette County is stronger because of people like you.

Hey Fayette County! Are you hungry for good conversation, genuine connection, and a chance to talk about important topics?

The Fayette County Good News Crew is hosting a series of "Sit A Spell" discussions-and we are currently looking for 12 Fayette County neighbors to join us.

Across the country, people are craving meaningful conversations--the kind that helps us understand one another, build connections, and bring neighbors together instead of driving us further apart.

We’re continuing to introduce the people behind FCCF. This is Melanie Seiler. Melanie is the Executive Director of Active Southern WV and has been involved in promoting healthy communities across the region for years. She brings a lot of experience and energy into everything she’s part of. Happy to have her involved as we build this out.

(Wish her luck this week at the US National Rafting Championships!)

What are we building toward? Over time, FCCF hopes to support things like youth programs, community recreation projects, arts and cultural opportunities, educational initiatives, and other efforts that strengthen quality of life in Fayette County. Recent examples include supporting Fayetteville Creates, helping with community improvements at Fayette County Park, and assisting with efforts like Stuff the Bus.

Meet Jim Maxwell. He’s spent decades living and working in the area and is deeply connected to the outdoor and recreation community. If it’s happening outside, there’s a good chance he’s involved in some way.

Jim is also active in the soccer community and stays active with youth programs, which keeps him connected to families and what’s happening in the ground. That perspective is a big part of what we’re building with FCCF. Glad he’s a part of it!
