This morning, I had the distinct honor of standing beside one of Marge’s dearest friends, Dr. Linda Palenchar, to present the 3rd Annual Margaret Pennington Lifetime Scholarship.

Special thank you to the Nicholas County Community Foundation for their hard work in reviewing applications and selecting a student who embodies everything that Marge stood for.

This year’s recipient is Andrew Wingrove, an Oak Hill High School senior heading to WVU-Tech to major in Biology. Andrew aspires to become an Optometrist with a heart for service and giving back to his hometown.

While Andrew was unable to attend this morning’s presentation as he was competing in a regional tennis championship, it is a privilege to support a young leader so committed to excellence and giving back to his community.

This came up in my FB memories. 5 years ago today we surprised Marge for her 60th birthday. Her laughter was infectious. I've watched this today more than I would like to admit but wanted to share it again.

It's so hard to believe it's been four years since we lost you Marge.

Today, I’m choosing to focus on the incredible warmth you brought into all of our lives. If there was one thing everyone knew about you, it was the sheer size of your heart. You had that rare, beautiful kind of kindness that made everyone feel like the most important person in the room whenever they were with you.

Even now, I see your legacy in the small acts of grace that you taught us and the kindness and huge hearts you passed down to Patrick and Olivia. You lived with such a gentle, giving spirit, and while we miss your presence so sorely, we are all better people for having been loved by you.

Today, I’m smiling at all the memories and I'm grateful for each and every one of them.

Here’s to my sister a beautiful soul who made the world a whole lot brighter just by being in it." I'll miss you forever bestie.

Calling all Fayette County, WV Schools seniors keep any eye out for scholarship applications 🌻

Hey High School Seniors!!! The scholarship season will be upon us before we know it! I will (weather-permitting) be coming to NCHS and RHS before Christmas break to go through the application process. I will announce the 2026 scholarship application availability online sometime early in January. The application will be due April 1, 2026, so you will have plenty of time to complete your application. Fayette County students, don't forget that we have The Margaret M. Pennington Memorial Scholarship available to one Fayette County student! Our Belinda Luzia McClung scholarship is geared towards a vocational training, so I hope to see lots of vocational program student applications! Also, if you are a student 13-18 years old wanting to enhance your education with a camp or training outside of the regular school curriculum, our Fred and Barbara Reed Expanding Horizons Scholarship is the one for you! I am looking forward to getting lots of applications for scholarships this season! See you after the new year! Happy holidays to all!

🌲✨ Light Up Lindy 2025✨🌲
This is our third year participating in this beautiful community event as we celebrate Marge’s life and legacy.

This year’s tree proudly shines with some handmade ornaments of the scholarship recipients from Lindenhurst High School and Oak Hill High School. Each name represents a young person carrying Marge’s spirit of kindness, community, and possibility forward.

We are honored to continue sharing her light with Lindy—today and always. 💚🎄🌻
