Hi 2027 Families! The flamingos have been collected, our cookie person is committed and now, we need to form a board and possibly a couple chairpersons to really get rolling with the proper paperwork to restart this non-profit. The vision is, we, as parents and guardians will work together to give these kids a memorable grad night. I've been part of boards where even though there are plenty eligible to volunteer, I was seeing the same couple of tired and overworked faces at every event, including my own. I am hoping we can do better by being there for each other.
Does anyone have any interest in being a part of the board? We will absolutely need a President, Treasurer and Secretary to get started. I would love a board who has a bit of Grad Night/Event Planning or experience with public outreach to lend us their expertise.
Currently I am with the North Whidbey Middle School PTA as their Treasurer and the person who will be heading cookie production is the President of the same board. We are planning on sticking with that board for the upcoming school year for our 7th graders (Class of 2031). Being a part of this Grad Night board means the Class of 2027 will get to participate in this time-honored tradition before they all branch out. It is also our chance to give them a proper send-off after years of traveling for sports, field trips, etc.
Please either send me a message or post here if you would like to be part of the board - what position and some qualities/experiences that would be a strong asset for what we are trying to accomplish.
