We are excited to announce that Friends of the Oak Harbor Public Library are the recipient of a $1000 grant from United for Libraries and Penguin Random House. The Friends plan on purchasing audio-enabled books for the children's department. These books assist child in learning to read by adding an audio element to their reading experience!

🎉 Congratulations to the recipients of the 2026 United for Libraries & Penguin Random House Grants for Small & Rural Libraries!

30 Friends of the Library groups across the country will receive cash grants of either $1,000 or $500 to support summer reading programs, senior outreach, bookmobiles, tech upgrades & more. 20 groups will receive $500 to buy Penguin Random House books for their library.

It's time for our annual hat and mitten tree! 🧤
Let's keep Oak Harbor warm together. ❤️

The Friends of the Oak Harbor Public are sponsoring a Hat and Mitten tree at the Library and are asking for donations to help decorate this tree. This is a good opportunity to brush off your knitting skills, use up some excess yarn, and help the community. Items collected will be distributed to area organizations, including schools.
