Dear Educators,

The Junior League of Monroe is excited to announce that applications are now open for our Classroom Mini Grants Program! These grants are designed to support innovative and impactful classroom projects that enhance student learning and engagement. We will be awarding grants of up to $500 to educators across Region 8. All educators public, private, and charter are encouraged to apply.

Applications are open now and will close on Tuesday, November 12th. All applicants will be notified of decision by November 21st. To apply, please complete the online application form at the link below: HTTPS://BIT.LY/JLMMINIGRANTS2025

LEAPing Ahead in English!

In the next few weeks as we receive LEAP scores, we will be highlighting our success!
We will begin our shout-outs with our high school English department and our amazing students for their outstanding performance on the LEAP assessments!

👉 53% of our high school English students scored Mastery or Above — which means they mastered the subject and demonstrated full readiness for college and career expectations!

📈 The state average for Mastery+ in high school is 36%, which means our students are performing 16% ABOVE the Louisiana average! 🙌

Even more exciting…🎯 Over 60% of our students met or exceeded their individual growth targets — a key new accountability factor from the Louisiana Department of Education. In fact, as a whole, our students exceeded their composite growth targets by over 160 points in both English I and II!

👏 Hats off to our dedicated English teachers, MRS. HOLLY BARNETTE and MR. WESLEY OGG, for their commitment, excellence, and daily investment in our students. Your hard work is showing up in a big way! We also want to thank our parents for their encouragement and continuing support!

This statewide recognition celebrates the people, partnerships, and projects that drive growth and create opportunity across Louisiana.
