On the back roads a small town comes alive once a year for the Jesse James Outlaw Roundup Festival there is very few props needed the center of main street looks just like a small western town. . Friday the vendors start coming in and by Saturday the streets are closed, There is live music and you will think you are back in the Wild West. We have several dressed in costume others just put on their cowboy boots and ten gallon hat and join the fun on Main Street.

For those who have been asking, there will not be a Jesse James Outlaw Roundup Festival this year. The name has changed to the Poverty Point World Heritage Festival and will be held in spring 2020.

A HUGE thank you to all our JJOR parade participants. Thanks to the Madison Parish High School marching band. Y’all are awesome. Thanks to the OPHS Naval ROTC for marching this year. Thank you to the OGHS cheerleaders, the OGJHS cheerleaders and our Tiger Kittens who gave awesome performances!! And a huge thank you to the talented OG DrumLine for their performance. Our 1st place float winning float was the OGHS softball girls! 2nd place went to the OGJHS cheerleaders! 3rd place to Dee’s Riding School! The floats all looked fabulous and your hard work is so appreciated! And last to all who showed up to ride and participate, a huge thank you for making this year a great parade!

Hey y’all, it’s Festival week!!! The festival is Saturday beginning at 9am with activities throughout the day. Bring the kids and come enjoy this family-friendly day!!

This year the JJOR parade will be a performance parade! The parade begins at 11:00 and will stop 3 times. To watch your child or grandchild perform in OPHS-NJROTC, OGHS Tiger Kittens, or OGJH Cheerleading please gather in front of the Fiske Theatre. To watch your child perform in SEARK Karate group, OGHS Cheeerleading or the OG Drumline please gather in front of the courtyard area. The Madison Parish Band will stop and perform at the red light in front of KWCL. We plan on having a great parade this year. Thanks so much to all the groups who have agreed to perform!
