It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II, a long-standing supporter of our Movement.

Her Majesty was Patron of Girlguiding UK, who shared a touching tribute about her lifelong connection to Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting around the world.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the Royal Family and to our members in all Commonwealth nations during this very sad time.

May she rest in peace.

Tonight we lost a legend, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg—a fierce and devoted advocate for women and girls everywhere. When she first applied to clerk for the court in 1960 she was rejected because she was a woman, but she didn’t let that stop her. She went on to break ground as a law professor and lawyer, winning many watershed cases before the Supreme Court, which she would ultimately serve on for 27 years. She held herself to the highest standards and made history as a champion of equality for all. Rest in Power, Notorious RBG.💚
