Join us for a Community Town Hall meeting!

OFHA invites all neighbors to join us for an open discussion and Q&A on the Neighborhood Security Program.

During the meeting, we’ll review and compare neighborhood patrol options, including services provided by SEAL Security and the Harris County Constable’s Office. We’ll discuss patrol services, costs, membership levels, and how participation impacts the level of security coverage across our neighborhood.

This is an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the available options, and share your feedback.

All neighbors are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please share with your neighbors!

8 Monday evenings is all that you need and it will go by fast!

The City of Houston has found a location and initiated registration for our Mangum Manor/ Oak Forest/ Garden Oaks neighborhood course!

So…. What is CERT?
Community Emergency Response Team: FEMA-approved program that teaches citizens basic disaster response skills. You will learn fire safety, disaster preparedness, medical triage, light search and rescue, and many other important topics. This helps prepare you to react in an emergency situation prior to the arrival of first responders, or in the case of a major disaster, manage prior to their availability.

Why is this important?
We tend to think that in an emergency we will be strong and focused, but will we really be able to calmly take the necessary steps?

PRICE: FREE!

FREE STUFF: A backpack that includes PPE supplies, vest and hard hat, manual, badge, and certificates of completion

TIME COMMITMENT: 8 weeks, 24 hours taught in 3-hour modules with a final drill you run with the group.

Thank you to all who attended our monthly community meeting this week!
We loved having and as our guest speakers. Both are amazing establishments in our community and we encourage residents to support their business.

Thank you also to Lauren Thorne, resident of Mangum Manor and member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program which educates volunteers about disaster preparedness, for sharing more info about training opportunities.

We also got to hear exciting updates from Adrien Mohsenberg on the American Legion revitalization project slated to commence phase 1 in 2027.

OFHA President Bryan Treadway also presented Adrien with an Outstanding Oak Forest Neighbor certificate for her volunteer work and commitment to the project.
