It was great to welcome Eli Howard, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA)’s Executive Director of Technical Services and newly appointed Chief Operating Officer, to Cleats Manufacturing Co’s new shop.

Eli had the opportunity to tour the new facility, visit with the Cleats team, and get a firsthand look at their operation and capabilities.

We appreciate Eli taking the time to visit one of our SMACNA Greater Chicago member contractors, and we thank Cleats Manufacturing Co. for hosting us and showing off their impressive new facility.

SMACNA Greater Chicago had the pleasure of catching up with Sheet Metal Werks this week to check out the progress of the Heavy Metal Summer Experience, now in its second week!
We joined the students on their field trip to Porter Pipe & Supply Company and Premier Mechanical, where they got an up-close look at supply chain logistics and material handling. Plus, they got hands-on experience with welding, soldering, and brazing alongside industry pros!

This initiative gives students a real introduction to careers in the building trades. From shop safety to fabrication skills, these young individuals are getting a firsthand look at the opportunities available in the skilled trades.

A huge thank you to Kevin and Sue Ryan, and the entire Sheet Metal Werk’s team, for your dedication to mentoring and inspiring the next generation of trade professionals. Your commitment to workforce development makes a difference.
