The Sharing Shed

The Sharing Shed We serve families and individuals who are recovering from a crisis. We are a 501(c)(3) organization helping fragile families in the Tri-County area.

The Sharing Shed provides furniture and basic household items to clients with referrals from local agencies, churches and organizations. We serve families referred to The Sharing Shed by appointment only at no cost to them. The Sharing Shed helps over 25 families a month begin a new life. These families include those that have been displaced due to loss of employment, are fleeing abusive situation

s, are coming out of homelessness, or are recovering from a number of other hardship situations. We recieve donations of gentle used furniture and household items from families and busnesses in our local community. All items are then sorted, cleaned, organized and presented in a boutique like setting. The work is all done by many groups of volunteers. These volunteers recieve and process donations on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9am-11am. Other groups serve on Saturday mornings from 9am-11am and Wednesday evenings from 6pm-8pm. These groups help families pick out their furniture and household items, and help load their items into their vechicles. We also have groups of volunteers that pick-up donated items as well as deliver items to families that can not provide their own transportation.

Stephanie Lake leads the Harvester young adult group that serves at The Sharing Shed each month. She is an incredible leader, deeply respected by her peers, and has a genuine heart for the families we serve.
