O’Fallon Veterans Monument to Hold Memorial Day Ceremony
O’FALLON, IL — The City of O’Fallon invites the public to a Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 25th, at the Veterans Monument, located at 737 Wesley Drive. This ceremony serves as a formal tribute to our nation’s service members and will feature the introduction of newly inscribed names to the monument.
The event will officially begin at 11:30 a.m., with pre-service music starting at 11:15 a.m. Major General Charles D. Bolton, Commander of the 18th Air Force, will serve as the guest speaker. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and water for comfort during the program.
Event Highlights:
The ceremony will feature a wide range of community and military participation, including:
Keynote Speaker: Major General Charles D. Bolton, Commander, 18th Air Force.
Military & Youth Honors: Participation from the OTHS AFJ ROTC, VFW Post 805, and retired officers Lt. Colonel Ronald E. Garrison and Colonel Larry Strube.
Musical Performances: Patriotic selections performed by the OTHS Band Ensemble and the OTHS Choir.
Community Guests: Special appearance by Miss O’Fallon, Kyra Gallagher.
Veteran Recognition: Attending veterans are encouraged to wear their medals and decorations.
