I would love for us to build a peace pole in O’Fallon!

The Charleston Rotary club will be dedicating a Peace Pole on the EIU campus in the courtyard behind Old Main and near Blair Hall on Friday, April 24 at 2 pm. The ceremony will express our collective hope that world peace prevails and our personal dedication to seeking peace through understanding. Join us!

The Peace Pole along with the pole for the dedication plaque were installed today (see attached picture). The dedication plaque will be printed by LLC in the next few days.

Parking is available in the visitor’s parking lot on 7th Street across from Blair Hall. Because of fencing required for the steam tunnel repairs occurring on campus, it would be best to approach the dedication site from the visitor’s parking lot by walking on the sidewalk between Old Main and Blair Hall. If you walk between Blair Hall and the Student Services building, you will be required to use metal walkways to navigate the fenced off areas.

Hope to see you there!
