We had our second nonprofit accelerator today at 80-Twenty Studios, featuring Mark Hollander as our speaker. The discussion focused on energizing and effectively utilizing our boards, and we walked away with invaluable insights. It was a fantastic day of learning, collaboration, and nonprofits sharpening each other to better serve our communities!

I had the opportunity to judge a Shark Tank type competition at Timberland HS. What a great experience! Not only did we get to judge the businesses, but we got to talk with the students and answer questions about starting a business or nonprofit. Thank you to Andrea Dubitsky for the invitation! As a bonus, I got to meet McFarland and Associates and hang out with Julie Durham.

I had the opportunity to meet with Gregg and Wendy Robinson and the board for Marcy's Project last week. There are a lot of opportunities for Romans 1210 and Marcy's Project to collaborate on building up our community. They have been able to assist our current participants and we will be a resource for their participants who would qualify to level up vocationally through education.

We had our first-ever Nonprofit Accelerator today! This is a group of area nonprofits that are exchanging information in an effort to lift each up. Today our guest speaker was Heather Kemper of The Miriam School and Learning Center and the topic was fundraising. There was a lot of good information! There was also a lot of synergy between some of the nonprofits.

We are meeting the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 8:30-9:30 am at 80-Twenty Studios. Thank you to all who were able to make it and looking forward to seeing those of you who weren't able to be there.

One and a half years ago I quit a good job with benefits and retirement to chase a dream. I wanted to run a nonprofit and help low-income single parents improve the environment in which children in those households grow up. It was not the fiscally responsible thing to do, but I would do it over again in a heartbeat. I am looking forward to 2025 as a year where we will gain some serious traction and make a bigger difference in our community. Thank you to all who have joined me on this journey!

Congrats to our first graduate from Romans 1210, Maggie! Maggie had her graduation ceremony last night on the Maritz campus in the Martin Theatre from the Police Academy. She has been hired by the St. Louis County department and is heading to the North County precinct on dayshift to begin with.

This is a hard-working woman who was determined to do better for herself and her family. She definitely deserves all the flowers she gets! Thank you for letting us come along on your journey! We will always be family!
