SPREAD THE WORD!!! WE ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW YOUTH JAZZ PIANISTS TO AUDITION TO JOIN AS A MEMBER OF THE GREATER CINCINNATI YOUTH JAZZ COLLABORATIVE (GCYJC). Interested persons should be in 9th to 12th grade, live in Greater Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky, and have about 2 years of experience playing jazz, and be interested in weekly rehearsals with the GCYJC Ensemble of about 13 musicians / vocalist at the Music Resource Center in Walnut Hills every Tuesday night beginning in January.
Under the leadership and tutelage of Dr. Isidore Rudnick, the Fine Arts Curriculum Manager for Cincinnati Public Schools, the mission of the Greater Cincinnati Jazz Collaborative is to educate the musical youth of Greater Cincinnati, regardless of social or financial status, through quality and sustained opportunities to study, perform and record jazz in a dynamic and supportive environment.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a budding young jazz pianist, and there will be substantial opportunities to play with the GCYJC Ensemble throughout the 2019 Winter, Spring, and Summer including local jazz clubs, festivals, and more.
