Squash, cauliflower, mizuna, radishes, peppers and herbs oh my! Thank you to Zoe Friedberg and her Little Gem Farm for yet another week of beautiful veggies. Zoe donates veggies each week to our after school families through a special grant with Glenwood.

The leaves outside are still pretty green. Inside our afterschool program it’s full of fall colors. Students created handmade wreaths from paper in art class with Ms. Maija. A recent article on PBS.org shared the results of studies that show a correlation between art and academic achievements. The impact of regular exposure to creativity results in higher test scores, as the article stated, “A report by Americans for the Arts states that young people who participate regularly in the arts are FOUR TIMES more likely to be recognized for academic achievement.” And it’s fun!
