The Phoenix Center

The Phoenix Center Accredited private, special needs school providing customized programs built around the whole child.

The Phoenix Center is an accredited, not-for-profit school serving the educational, behavioral and therapeutic needs of students ages 5-21 with autism, multiple disabilities, behavioral and intellectual disabilities. Our customized evidence-based programs—developed for each student—are anchored by a hands-on, real-life, community-based instruction model. Our accredited classroom and community-base

d instructional programs are built around the “whole child.” Our NJ Dept. of Education-approved school works closely with districts, professionals, and parents to develop programs (communication, behavioral and social) tailored to meet the specific academic and functional needs of each child. Our teachers and related service providers are highly qualified, certified and/or licensed. We employ a range of educational and therapeutic methods to meet each child at his/her particular stage of development and help students prepare for life beyond The Phoenix Center, which is at the core of our mission. By pulling from each child’s innate gifts, we help them rise, like the ancient phoenix, above their challenges to build confidence and achieve greater fulfillment and success in the world.

Pride was an incredible success! So good to see so many of our Phoenix friends and staff show up with their rainbow colors today. And we were able to raise $400 for The Trevor Project, which helps ensure that LGBTQ+ young people can access life-affirming care whenever they need it. 🏳️‍🌈🌈❤️

We are beaming with pride! 🎉Our very own Beth Miele, teacher, behavior coordinator, and IT coordinator at The Phoenix Center, was recently featured in an opinion piece on NorthJersey.com titled "What My Students With Autism Have Taught Me."

With 35 years of experience in our classrooms, Beth shares lessons about patience, communication, and what it truly means to see the whole child. It is a beautiful and important read, and it reflects everything our TPC community stands for.

Give it a read and share it with someone who needs to hear it today. 💙

It’s not too late to support everyone’s favorite furry therapist! Tomorrow is the last day to get your orders in!

TPC is holding a fundraiser to help our sweet and loveable therapy dog, Norman, with some of his recent medical expenses. ❤We will be baking and selling sugar cookies, both regular and an allergy-friendly version, with the help of our employment specialists, related services, and our students.

If you'd like to support Norman and enjoy a sweet treat in the process 😊, please consider donating. You can also buy cookies for a friend (or student!) of your choosing, to be delivered on May 20th.

See the attached flyer for details🐶🦴🐾❤️st
