This is pretty cool!

The multi-use path on The Gordie Howe International Bridge will allow pedestrians and cyclists to cross the Windsor-Detroit border for free. It’ll be about 1.5 miles long and nearly 12 feet wide.

The Friends of the North Bank Trail would like to recognize the family of Roger "Rog" Welscott of Spring Lake for identifying us as place to make memorial contributions. We received so many contributions in honor of Mr. Welscott and it sounds like he was a very good person. Maybe you were lucky enough to know him or maybe you can recall crossing paths with him on the NBT? Either way, we are very grateful to all who contributed and we offer our condolences to his family and friends.

Read the obituary of Roger Lee Welscott from Spring Lake, MI. Leave your condolences and send flowers to the family to show you care.

Hello Friends!
This is just a reminder that there will not be a Friends of the North Bank Trail meeting today. However, we would like to send along our gratitude to all of you and let you know that we appreciate your support and interest in helping create this trail. 2025 was a momentous year as we were able to help Crockery Township fund the refurbishing the two old railroad trestles over Crockery Creek through a very generous private donation of $250,000. We have also received many other donations that help us "keep the lights on" and provide the seed money to help future phases come to fruition. It also great to see the support of this trail and other pathways in our region through dedicated local millages. This wouldn't be happening without you! MANY THANKS!

We are very excited to announce that the trestle improvements over Crockery Creek have been completed and are open usage! See pictures here: https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/99d3dfbc40514d0eb038cfe9ff91855d/albums/01cbaf7526c843dba509daaec99e7c5e/assets/932fec32379b4b93adc780c1408f6107
This was made possible by a very generous private donation of $250,000 to the Friends of the NBT and the Crockery Township bike path millage funds. The trestles are approximately one mile east of the Nunica Junction Trailhead in downtown Nunica. The Township is planning to host a ribbon cutting ceremony in the Spring of 2026 to celebrate this great improvement.
We'd also like to thank Prein & Newhof Engineering and Riverworks Construction for their efforts on this project.

As a reminder, the NBT is for pedestrian and bicycle usage - no motor vehicles permitted.
