One of my favorite things about serving the Sunrise Side is sharing the hidden gems that make this region so special! 💙🌊🚢

Known as “Shipwreck Alley,” Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary is the only freshwater National Marine Sanctuary in the United States. Spanning 4,300 square miles of Lake Huron, it protects nearly 200 preserved shipwrecks - preserving not only our Great Lakes’ maritime history, but also honoring the lives and stories of those connected to them.

I had the opportunity to view some of the shipwrecks through the Aloena Shipwreck Tours and their glass bottom boat, which was truly incredible ⚓️

Whether you’re exploring the area, visiting the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, or heading out on the water, there’s always something incredible to discover on the Sunrise Side! 🤍🌅

What an honor to be a part of the Alpena 4th of July parade during America’s 250th! Being a part of this community is truly special, and it’s even more special to celebrate in the Sunrise Side 🌅✨

I have dreamed of being Miss Sunrise Side and getting to work with these wonderful ladies 🌅🤍

Ali, BK, Alana, and Ann - thank you for always being in my corner, advocating for me, believing in me, and helping me see the parts of myself I sometimes overlook. You celebrated the qualities I tend to shy away from and reminded me that those are often the very things that make me who I am.

From choreographing my talent routine (BK for the WIN! 💙), to finding an evening gown I was hesitant about until the moment I put it on and knew she was the one, to encouraging me to let my pharmaceutical career shine while also highlighting my passion for nutrition, food access, and education - you continuously reminded me that being Lauren is one of my greatest strengths.

And beyond all of that, thank you for the countless adventures, laughs, and memories along the way. Living on the opposite side of the state meant this journey wasn’t always easy, and I truly could not have done it without the four of you.

Because of your support, I walked through this year with a stronger sense of purpose, confidence, and gratitude. I will be forever thankful for each of you.

I am excited to continue serving as Miss Sunrise Side with the four of you by my side!! Thank you for helping me feel my best at Miss Michigan ☀️

Still not over Miss Michigan week… or these absolutely GORGEOUS opening number dresses from Viper Apparel Prom & Pageant and AMARRA 🩵✨

Dalia and her amazing team went above and beyond to make sure we looked and felt our best, especially this year. She traveled far and wide to ensure each of us had our opening number dresses, and her team was so kind and helpful backstage 🤟🏼

They are truly incredible people, and we’re so lucky to have them not only as sponsors, but as friends. This year marks Viper’s 15th anniversary as a partner of the Miss Michigan Scholarship Program, and I couldn’t be more grateful for all they do. From our opening number dresses to helping me find my evening gown, they support us every step of the way 🫶🏼

Thank you, Viper, for 15 wonderful years of partnership and for making each of us feel so special! 🩵

Top 11 at Miss Michigan 2026 🤟🏼✨🤍

I have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and inspiration after this past weekend. Making Top 11 as Miss Sunrise Side out of 30 incredible women is such an honor!! Where I am standing now was once the goal, and that goal continues to grow with my dreams. If you know me, I will never stop working towards my goals and dreams, especially this one ☺️💭

This year has had some challenges, and through it all, being Miss Sunrise Side and competing in the Miss America Organization has always been a constant that keeps me grounded and reminds me of why I love doing this. Thank you Miss Michigan Scholarship Program 🤍

Wearing Sunrise Side across my heart and representing these communities on the Miss Michigan stage has brought me pure joy, and making the Top 11 was the icing on the cake! I wanted to make the Sunrise Side proud, and I hope I was able to accomplish that ☀️ I am thankful for the scholarships I earned, the friends I made, and remembering that what I’m advocating for is so important 🌱 I left everything out on the stage, and I couldn’t be happier!

Thank you to my friends, family, and support system for continuing to help make my dreams a reality, and pouring into me! In person or behind the scenes, I love and appreciate you all. I have so much love to give my board, that I’ll have to make a separate post 😉

I’m excited to continue my advocacy, and work towards making it back to the Miss Michigan stage! Let’s do this! 🫶🏼

Finding the words to summarize the last six years is quite hard 😅

First, I’m so glad you were randomly placed next to be in a dressing room at my second ever MAO competition and wanted to become my friend. That was our cannon event 🤟🏼

I looked up to you then, and still do now. Your determination, perseverance, resilience, and passion are just a few of the many qualities I admire, especially watching you serve this past year as Miss Michigan.

From being Sunrise Side sisters, being called into the 2025 top five with Lacy, having late night phone calls, wearing patriotic bowl hats at Miss Shoreline, eating chick-fil-a on the floor, time spent together outside of pageant land, to all the moments in between, I am so grateful that you came into my life, and I got to grow in this program along side you.

The next chapter of your life will take you so far, and I can’t wait to see every good thing that comes your way.

I love you forever sunny girl! ☀️🌻
