The thermal spray community mourns the passing in May of this year of Professor Pierre Fauchais, a pillar of the Thermal Spray Society. Prof. Fauchais contributed 42 papers to the Journal of Thermal Spray Technology as an author and co-author.

JTST announces latest Impact Factor

The Journal of Thermal Spray Technology Editor-in-Chief André McDonald is pleased to share that the journal's 2023 Impact Factor has increased to 3.2, as announced in the 2024 edition of Journal Citation Reports (JCR) released in June by Clarivate. The journal team extends its congratulations to all contributors for their dedication and effort.

This achievement can be attributed to the hard work of the journal editors, reviewers, authors, and editorial committee in acquiring and publishing high-quality impactful content. JTST has secured a second quartile position and is ranked number 8 of 23 in the “Materials Science, Coatings & Films” category.

The Journal Impact Factor is the ratio of last year's citations to articles published in that journal in the two previous years. The 2023 Journal Impact Factor is based on citations in 2023 to articles published in 2022 and 2021.
