For over 30 years, NBCC has designed and implemented proven, effective programs that focus on school-readiness, foster self-sufficiency and promote health and wellness for families across the income spectrum. Our objective is to ensure that all children — particularly our most vulnerable — have access to those critical, high-quality, early learning experiences that build the foundation for life-long success.

From measuring and mixing to making the starter and finally enjoying that first bite, our little bakers got to experience the full sourdough process from start to finish!

A big thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers for sharing their time, knowledge, and love of baking with our children. Experiences like these turn everyday activities into opportunities to build confidence, practice important life skills, and learn something new.

And of course, the best part of learning to make sourdough is getting to eat the delicious results!

Creativity + STEAM in action at Tinker!

After a ChompSaw demonstration from Jill St. Peter, NBCC’s Curriculum and Training Director, our young creators got hands-on with this kid-friendly STEAM tool to cut, build, and bring their ideas to life.

Then it was time to put their new skills to work designing and creating their very own arcade games!

From imagining an idea to building it themselves, experiences like these encourage creativity, problem-solving, and plenty of hands-on discovery.

North Bay Children’s Center is proud to honor Chef Dustin Valette as our 2026 Champion for Children at A Night in Tuscany on Saturday, September 19th!

A Sonoma County native, Chef Valette has built an acclaimed culinary career rooted in excellence, creativity, and community. From celebrated kitchens including Bouchon, Gary Danko, and La Folie to his own acclaimed restaurants and wine ventures, he has helped shape Sonoma County’s culinary landscape.

But Dustin’s impact goes beyond the kitchen. Through his generosity, leadership, and commitment to giving back, he has been a steadfast supporter of the North Bay community, including North Bay Children’s Center.

From garden to table at Prestwood! 🍅

Our young gardeners explored the lifecycle of a tomato, starting with the bounty growing right in their own garden. They practiced cutting different varieties of colorful tomatoes, tasted their way through the harvest, and learned more about how the food we grow makes its way from the garden to our plates.

Nuestros pequeños jardineros exploraron el ciclo de vida del tomate, comenzando con la abundante cosecha de su propio huerto. Practicaron cómo cortar diferentes variedades de tomates de muchos colores, probaron los frutos de su cosecha y aprendieron más sobre cómo los alimentos que cultivamos llegan del huerto a nuestros platos.

NBCC has been honored to be the charity partner of the Dutra Golf Tournament for 5 of the last 10 years. We’re incredibly grateful for their continued support, generosity, and commitment to making a difference in our community.

What makes this partnership so special is that it brings people together for a great day on the course while helping support two meaningful causes. 💙

Learning, connecting, and growing together!

Last week, our NBCC team came together for our second Staff Development Day of the year, a day to step away from our daily routines, learn from one another, strengthen our skills, and reconnect as a team.

The day included valuable learning with Carla Fernandes-Goes, CDSS Licensing Advocate, an impactful session with Common Ground Society, Garden of Eatin’ learning, and plenty of collaboration during our “It Takes a Village” team-building activity.

Because when our staff grow, our entire NBCC community grows with them.

We’re grateful for this incredible team and the dedication they bring to children and families every day!
