Fulfilled!

THANK YOU Novato! This community makes anything possible. This family now has clothing. I just learned they didn’t make the first day of school because they didn’t have clothing that was school appropriate.

Truth is, we love doing this. The need never goes away. There will always be someone who needs a little help along the way.

Space has always been our biggest hurdle. If you know of someone or somewhere that has a small space to make clothing readily available, let’s get creative. Feel free to share this post!

Happy Monday!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to help this family.

Please, please, please, do not dump stuff on my door step that was not asked for. It creates more work for us and the family cannot take items they won’t currently be using.

Thank you! And I’ll be back today with the holes that still need to be filled as I go through the items for passing along.

Hello Beecause Community!

Occasionally, I still get requests for the closet even though we have closed our doors.

Today, we have a request and I would love for the community to be able to help this family! Here are the details.

my pants size is 34 and shirt size is XL in shoe size I am 9.5.

my wife's shirt size is L and pants size is 9/29 in shoe size 8.

one of the girls is 10 years old and the other is 2.

7 years ago this month, Ellen walked into a consignment store in Novato looking for a Halloween costume for a few students in her son’s class. The shop owner, Andrea, asked how she could help. In that moment, BeeCause, was formed. We quickly learned each other’s desire to help. Andrea was the recipient of safe haven services (as a child) where Ellen was a former social worker. The rest is history.

Through relationships in our community, word of mouth, social media and disasters, we have been able to help countless humans. This simply wouldn’t have been possible without this community and the support of those around us. We can count on one hand the requests that could not be met. That is an accomplishment.

Thank you and we look forward to moving forward onto the next chapter. Stay tuned.

Love each other and do not forget to look for ways around you to help others. Opportunity is there!

•••News on the closet front•••

The end of September will be our last day of storage for our closet. The pandemic has had a great impact on funding and donations moving in and out of the closet. While we are aware that there is still a great need, we are not able to sustain the current closet as it has been for over 7 years.

We look forward to creating other ways to help the community in the future. This community has been instrumental in making our closet happen for the last 7 years. Without you, there would not have been a Community Closet.

There will be volunteer opportunities in the coming weeks as we find local homes for our clothing. We will be reaching out to make sure our items stay local.

Stay tuned for other opportunities to come together to help others in this great community!
