Please share with family and friends interested in Climate Education Day Camp!

Join us for a week-long summer day camp designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire the next generation of STEM learners. Youth will participate in hands-on experiments, lab activities, and outdoor field experiences while learning from guest speakers and industry professionals who will share real-world insights into STEM careers.

Hosted on a community college campus, participants will explore science through classroom learning and guided hikes at the Indian Valley Preserve, connecting scientific concepts to the natural world around them. The week will also include a campus tour and a final capstone project that celebrates creativity, collaboration, and discovery while helping youth see themselves as future leaders in STEM.

Meet our Small Animal Judge for the West Marin Fair, Rose Spaletta! We are excited to welcome Rose and appreciate her support of our exhibitors and livestock program.

Here is her bio:

My name is Rose Spaletta and I have been raising and showing livestock for almost fifteen years. The species I raise include poultry, rabbits and registered boer goats. I enjoy traveling up and down California and even out of state exhibiting my poultry. I raise bantam Rhode Island Reds, bantam Buckeyes and large fowl White Plymouth Rocks. I started raising and showing Mini Satin rabbits my junior year of high school and I have enjoyed growing my breeding program over the last few years. My sister and I began raising boer goats together as a way to supply our own market goats to exhibit and sell at our county fair. Over the years, I have slowly been expanding my herd and I take pride in selling quality market animals to the local 4-H and FFA kids. I am very thankful for the people I am surrounded by and I am so grateful that I can share all of my knowledge and skills with the future generation of our community.

Don’t forget to enter the West Marin Fair tomorrow! Registration closes at 11:59pm tonight. To register for the event use this link: https://showman.app/shows #/west-marin-fair-3d0a

Meet our Large Animal Judge for the West Marin Fair this Saturday, Alexa Alto! We are excited to welcome Alexa and appreciate her taking the time to support our exhibitors and community. 🍀

Here is her bio:

My name is Alexa Alto and I recently graduated from Modesto Junior College with a degree in agricultural business, and animal science, and will be transferring to Kansas State in the fall. Over the past two years, I served as a beef unit intern at Modesto Junior College. While attending MJC, I was also a member of the livestock judging team. I grew up raising cattle through my family operation, Alto Livestock, where we focus on producing high-quality Angus, Hereford, and club calves. Throughout my years showing livestock, I have competed at numerous jackpots, county fairs, statewide, and national shows. I'm very thankful for the opportunity to judge this fair and wish best of luck to all exhibitors.
