We hope yesterday left you energized, inspired, and ready for more — because Day Two of the 54th Annual FPA NorCal Conference is shaping up to be just as powerful.

Here's a look at what's on the stage today.
This morning, Stephanie Bogan takes the stage with "Building A High-Growth, High-Profit, High-Happiness Practice" — a session built around what actually separates stressed-out practices from truly thriving businesses. If you've ever wondered how some advisors generate millions in revenue while taking 60 to 90 days off per year, this is the session that answers that question.

Our afternoon keynote, Dr. Joe Coughlin, Founder and Director of the MIT AgeLab, closes out the conference with "Retirement and the Other AI: Anticipatory Intelligence and Your Role as Advisor," a powerful look at how longer lifespans are reshaping the business of advice and what it means to truly guide clients through all 8,000 days of retirement.

Today is your last full day in San Francisco and we want you to make the most of every moment! Take notes, make new connections, and carry what you learn today back to your practice.

We're so glad you're here!

Today is the day...and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome you to San Francisco!

The doors of the Palace Hotel are open, the energy in the room is already incredible, and the 54th Annual FPA NorCal Conference is officially underway. This is the moment we have been working toward all year and we could not be more excited to share it with this amazing community.

To everyone who made the trip to the Bay Area, thank you for being here. Your presence is what makes the FPA NorCal Conference what it is..."for us, by us."

And to everyone following along from home, we will be sharing moments from the conference throughout the next two days so stay tuned.

Tomorrow, the 54th Annual FPA NorCal Conference opens its doors at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco and after months of planning, we are so ready to welcome you!

This conference has always been about something bigger than the incredible sessions and the CE credits. It's about the community of financial planners who show up every year because they care deeply about this profession and the clients who depend on them. That's the energy that fills the Palace Hotel every year.

Tomorrow morning, Michael Kitces kicks things off with what promises to be one of the most talked about sessions of the conference, "How To Be a Happier Advicer (According to Research)." At lunch, Liz Thomas, Head of Investment Strategy at SoFi, brings her market expertise to the stage with "Economic Update and Market Insights," a timely and practical look at what's happening right now and what it means for your clients.

This year's theme, "A Day in the Life of a Financial Planner," is close to our hearts. It's a celebration of the real work, the hard conversations, the meaningful breakthroughs, and the quiet moments that remind you why you chose this professions and career.

We can't wait to see you tomorrow at the Palace Hotel in downtown San Francisco!

Tomorrow is the day! Tag someone you can't wait to see at the conference.

One week from today, the 54th Annual FPA NorCal Conference kicks off at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco and we could not be more excited to welcome you!

If you're still working out your travel plans, here's everything you need to know about getting there.

The Palace Hotel is located at 2 New Montgomery Street in the heart of downtown San Francisco (just 15 miles and about 30 minutes from San Francisco International Airport (SFO).) We recommend flying into SFO for the most direct route to the hotel.

Once you land, getting from the airport to the Palace couldn't be easier. Hop in an Uber or Lyft, or take BART straight into the city — MUNI streetcars stop directly in front of the hotel at Montgomery Station, making it one of the most accessible venues in San Francisco Oakland International Airport (OAK) is also a great option and is accessible via BART.

However you get here, we will be ready for you.

The 54th annual FPA NorCal Conference is just around the corner and we are so excited to see you!

If you haven't started thinking about your trip yet, now is a great time. The Palace Hotel sits right in the heart of downtown San Francisco at 2 New Montgomery Street, just steps from Union Square, Chinatown, the Financial District, and some of the best restaurants the city has to offer. SFMOMA, Yerba Buena Gardens, and the Asian Art Museum are all within four blocks. Once you arrive, you really won't need a car. The hotel is about 30 minutes from SFO airport and ride shares drop you right at the front door. If you prefer public transit, BART and MUNI streetcars stop directly in front of the hotel at Montgomery Station.

Our suggestion for what to pack? Comfortable shoes for exploring the city, a notebook for the sessions you won't want to forget, business cards for new connections, and a huge appetite. San Francisco's restaurant scene never disappoints.

We'll handle the rest. See you on May 26th for two days of one of the most anticipated conferences in financial planning!

The conference doesn't end when the last session wraps — and if you're part of the NexGen community, we have something special planned for you!

Join us on the evening of Wednesday, May 27th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the French Parlor on the second floor of the Palace Hotel for an informal networking event hosted by the 2026 FPA NorCal Conference Committee.

This is a relaxed, welcoming space designed for the next generation of financial planners to connect, share ideas, and build the kinds of relationships that shape a career.

Whether you're just starting out or a few years into your practice, this is a great opportunity to meet fellow colleagues.

Here's the best part...no conference registration is required! So if you know someone in your office who is part of NexGen, invite them. Or if you know someone exploring a career in financial planning, bring them along. And if your firm has open positions, come ready to share. This is a great opportunity to connect with emerging talent in the profession.

We would love to see you there!

Succession planning is often treated as an exit strategy. This year's FPA NorCal speaker, Terri Kallsen CFP®, is here to change that conversation.

Terri is the Managing Partner at Rise Growth Partners and one of the most accomplished executives in wealth management. She previously managed more than 7,000 employees and $1.6 trillion in AUM at Charles Schwab, served as COO at Wealth Enhancement Group, and currently chairs the Board of Directors for the CFP Board. She has been featured in Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, and CNN and was named San Francisco Financial Woman of the Year in 2019.

At the FPA NorCal Conference on May 26–27th, Terri will be presenting "Succession as Strategy: Turning Transition into Competitive Advantage," a session built around helping RIA founders shift from exit thinking to enterprise thinking. Through real-world case studies, she will walk through valuation drivers, deal structures, and how to bring in outside capital without sacrificing your culture or your clients.

With just two weeks until the conference, we hope you're as excited as we are. See you at the Palace Hotel on May 26th and 27th.
