🔐 FREE Cybersecurity Training for Chester County Township Officials!

Protecting municipal systems, sensitive records, and essential services is increasingly important for local governments.

The Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of Homeland Security, Pennsylvania State Police, and PA CyberCom are offering a FREE Cybersecurity Educational Workshop designed for local government personnel.

💧 2026 Chester County Municipal Stormwater Summit

Township supervisors, managers, engineers, and public works staff are invited to the Chester County Municipal Stormwater Summit on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM at the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus, 137 Modena Road, Coatesville.

Hosted by the Chester County Water Resources Authority, the program will cover municipal stormwater ordinances, upcoming MS4 requirements, stormwater fees, recent case law, and Chester County’s Act 167 planning initiatives.

This is a particularly useful opportunity for municipalities evaluating stormwater regulations, infrastructure needs, and future MS4 compliance.

🚒 Grant Opportunity for Fire & EMS Partners

The Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner is accepting applications for the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program through October 22, 2026. Eligible organizations may seek funding for facility improvements, equipment, debt reduction, training and certification, and recruitment and retention initiatives.

Township officials are encouraged to share this opportunity with their partnering fire companies, EMS agencies, and volunteer rescue squads. Helping local emergency-service organizations identify available funding can strengthen community preparedness while supporting the volunteers and professionals who provide these critical services. 🚑

🌳 New Chester County Mini-Grant Opportunity for Municipal Open Space Projects

The Chester County Planning Commission is accepting applications for its Open Space Accelerator Mini-Grant Program, offering municipalities matching grants of up to $10,000 on a rolling basis while funding remains available.

Eligible projects can include trail and greenway feasibility planning, conservation subdivision ordinance updates, municipal park stewardship plans, open-space prioritization, and green infrastructure studies addressing flooding or shade.

For Chester County townships, this program can help move an existing open-space or resilience priority from the planning stage toward implementation without requiring a large-scale grant application. 🗺️
