Nice article on Cole Byler!

At 15 years old, Cole Byler was sitting in the bleachers of the Mercer Livestock Auction, just watching and learning. Now, at 20 years old, he's running the place.

Cole recently took over management of the historic sale barn in Mercer, Pennsylvania, now renamed Mercer County Stockyards LLC, and it has quickly become a family affair. With his mom and grandmother running the office, his fiancée and aunt clerking and his younger brothers helping out, the team is already making waves.

Under Cole's new leadership, the auction has grown from 50–75 head per sale to 420 head.

We're pretty excited to have an awesome Junior Program at our upcoming PA Cattlemen's Summer Field Day. Juniors will be treated to a special program on personal and career development, something they will benefit from no matter what path they choose in life!

Stacylyn Himelright of Cargill is one of our featured speakers. She will be presenting on career options, and sharing a bit of her journey in finding a job in the agricultural industry.

We asked her why she was excited to join us on July 18th, and here's what she had to say!

"Working with our industry’s youth truly feels like a vital and fulfilling investment in the future of the cattle business. Many mentors shaped both my professional and personal development, and their guidance gave me firsthand experience in just how critical it is to spend time with the next generations. I’m looking forward to engaging with the Juniors and helping inspire their journey."

We hope you're making plans to join us on July 18th in Somerset County. The day's events/meal are complimentary, but reservations are required!

See you then!
