South Bend native Jelani Cotton is taking the global stage.

The Holy Cross College senior has been named a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Program, becoming the first in the College’s history.

A proud moment for the Holy Cross College community.

Sophomore Lilian Holmer, a South Bend native and graduate of John Adams High School, has been recognized with Indiana’s Realizing the Dream Scholarship, honoring outstanding first-generation students from the state’s 28 private, nonprofit colleges and universities.

Lilian received the award Feb. 28 during a ceremony in Indianapolis after a first year at Holy Cross marked by resilience, growth, and determination. She plans to pursue a career in education and hopes to one day become a behavioral specialist.

Her journey is a powerful reminder of the impact first-generation students are making on our campus and in our communities.
