The day is cold but our hearts are warm!

Grateful for the many free items we were able to pick-up this morning from the Freestore Foodbank as well as purchasing some staples at super reasonable prices.

Thank you also to our volunteers, including some students using a morning off school to lead their muscles.

🙌🎉💪 The shelves at The Food Pantry are looking better for tomorrow’s open pantry hours (dinner/shopping from 5-6pm).

What’s in a name?

Norwood has a population density of over 6000 people per square mile, making it one of the most densely populated areas in Hamilton County. Despite that, it is easy for people to be lonely, disconnected from their neighbors, and totally unaware of the needs of those around them.

As oak trees grow, they start out with a taproot, representing our deep love for our community. But in order to survive, they also develop an extensive horizontal root system… reaching out around themselves to find moisture and sustenance. Oak trees planted close to each other can even share root systems that have grafted together. We are like those tree roots, reaching out to our neighbors, and weaving them into the fabric of our lives, both of us receiving sustenance as we connect and develop relationships together. Relationships that enrich our lives and bring us from a place of survival to a place where we can flourish and grow.
