Cash Mob Norwood, Ohio

Cash Mob Norwood, Ohio We support locally owned small businesses by using our collective cash and networking. Its fun, good for our community and for the economy! Here is how it works.

We each do a little, we all do a lot. We support two businesses each time we do a cash mob. First we pick a business that sells goods (maybe services, but I'm not sure how well that works yet). Then we pick a day and time to all go there and spend roughly $20. After that we go to the after-mob at a local restaurant or coffee shop to partake in their goods and socialize. What makes a good candidate

for a Cash Mob?
+ The business is locally owned and not a corporation, a mom and pop place.
+ If you went to the location you could meet or be helped by the owner.
+ There are a wide selection of goods that are $20 or less.
+ A wide selection of the population would want to buy the goods- merchandise that appeals to men and women and usually kids too.
+ The location of the business is somewhere near Norwood, Ohio. Neighborhoods including, but not limited to, Oakley, Hyde Park, Mt. Lookout, Columbia Tusculum, Pleasant Ridge, Madisonville, O'Bryonville, De Sales Corner, etc. etc. How is a location picked? Sometimes I will have a few ideas have the page fans vote. Sometimes I will have a business nominated by another business owner. Sometimes a fan of the page or a person I talk to will recommend a business. What are the rules? Spend $20, or less, or more. Cash, credit, check- whatever you please. Meet three people you didn’t know before
HAVE FUN!!! Why is it called Cash Mob if you don't need to spend actual cash? Cash rhymes with Flash and it was inspired by Flash Mobs. You do not need to actually spend cash. Any form of payment that the business accepts is great. Credit card Mob just doesn't have the same ring as Cash Mob. Want to know more? Check out www.cashmobs.wordpress.com

Small business minded friends- I am on the lookout for a chalk board for home decor, framed possibly. Anyone have any leads on a small business that has one or a local artisan that makes them?

This contest highlights small businesses and we just LOVE it! Here is todays clue for your treasure hunting enjoyment.

It’s Contest Time and we have two ways to win a $75 gift card to H.J. Benken Florist & Garden Center! First, we have partnered with six local, independent businesses located in different parts of the city that we draw from. Each morning of Mother’s Day week (Monday – Saturday) we will post a clue on our page as to which local business we have placed that day’s prize box. It’s your job to be the FIRST to decipher the clue, visit the location and to retrieve the box and win the prize!

Once that day’s prize box has been found, we will announce on Facebook the winners name and business’ name and location. Please don’t comment on the business name as that is not how the prize will be won. You must personally visit and retrieve the box to win.

The second way to win is for those of you not able to participate in our little scavenger hunt…you can still win by liking and sharing this post. One winner will be randomly drawn from each follower who likes and shares the contest.

Good luck to all you treasure hunters!

Okay, here is Saturday's clue:

I sit along the trail in a place that bears my name. Here you’ll find cups of joe, smoothies and fresh breakfast items. What business am I?

*Don't forget to stop by H.J. Benken Florist & Garden Center this weekend for all of your floral, home, garden and Mother's Day needs!

Yum!
