The Story Behind the Brisket

Every community food effort starts with people willing to step up.

When Chenango Food Alliance began planning this fundraiser, by Nature Farm didn't hesitate to help. They generously donated a locally raised brisket so that every raffle ticket sold could help support CFA's work expanding access to local food throughout Chenango County.

This raffle isn't just about winning a great piece of locally raised beef. It's about what becomes possible when farms, businesses, and community members work together.

A donated brisket becomes raffle tickets.

Raffle tickets become resources.

Resources help connect local farms with local families and support programs like Meat the Need.

We're grateful to Peaceful by Nature Farm for their generosity and for being part of a growing network of people who believe everyone deserves access to good local food.

One lucky winner will take home a locally raised brisket generously donated by Peaceful by Nature Farm, and every ticket sold helps support CFA's work connecting local farms, families, and food pantries throughout Chenango County.

The drawing will be held on Saturday, June 27.

Last week, locally raised meat was delivered to the Edmeston Community Cupboard.

The photos tell the story better than we can.

What began with local farms, local processing, and community support ended with a freezer ready to serve local families.

This is the work of the Chenango Food Alliance: building a system where farmers are supported, families have access to quality food, and communities participate in creating both.
