Chaz has settled into his new home very well. He loves exploring and has other kitties to make friends with as well as a large exotic bird to look at.
Chaz enjoys lying on the couch, which presently, is his favorite spot to relax.
We are so happy for Chaz and his very kind, patient owner & her sister, who has helped Chaz, a very timid, semi feral cat, settle into their home, which is now his home as well.
God bless them all.

Barnaby, a shelter black cat who had known neglect for most of his life, was terrified of the dark—shaking quietly in his cage at a vet clinic at 2:00 AM. Jessica, a night-shift vet tech, noticed he couldn’t settle, his soft cries breaking the silence.

Black cats are often misunderstood, yet they are incredibly sensitive, affectionate, and deeply bonded to those who show them love. Barnaby was no different—he didn’t just need a cage, he needed comfort. Instead of staying in the break room, Jessica trusted her heart and went back.

She brought a pillow and blanket, then gently lay down on the cold floor beside him.

Within moments, everything changed.

The pacing stopped. The fear faded. Barnaby slowly inched closer, curling up against her like he had finally found safety. For the first time that night, he slept peacefully.

The moment, quietly captured on the clinic’s camera, wasn’t dramatic—but it meant everything.

Some wounds take time to heal. But sometimes, all it takes is one quiet act of kindness to remind an animal what love feels like again.

Not every moment goes viral. But for Barnaby, that night changed everything.
