The mission of Thames River Community Service, Inc. is to provide safe housing with support services by creating an environment in which homeless families and individuals can pursue goals for self-sufficiency and control over their lives. This mission is ac
complished by promoting family and individual wellness, empowering families to develop an achievable plan for successful, independent living, and to acquire life skills. In our Thames River Family Program, young parents ages 18-24 who are homeless, with their children, will reside in a well maintained, secure building, work closely with staff to develop goals and strengthen important life skills, arrange safe, quality child care, and maintain housing stability upon leaving TRFP. Our Transitional Housing Program will provide homeless families with disabilities with safe, affordable housing units throughout New London County, rental subsidies, comprehensive and individualized services, and weekly in-home case management services.
