Let’s make Greeneville sparkle ✨

Join us on June 6 from 10–12 for Sparkle Greeneville, a morning of community care as we bring a little extra beauty to the neighborhood 💚

Meet at the Playground at 266 Central Ave

Greeneville, Norwich CT

We’ll be planting flowers from McKenna’s Flowers & Plants in front of local businesses throughout the neighborhood, helping brighten our streets and celebrate the season together.

No experience needed—just come ready to dig in and have some fun. All supplies are provided 🌱

Come out, meet your neighbors, and be part of something genuinely good happening right here 💚

Can’t make it? You can still be part of it—sparkle your own space. Clean up, add some color, plant something, hang lights, sweep your sidewalk—every little bit counts ✨

Because when Greeneville shows up, it shines ✨

Greeneville showed up — and so did you. 💚

A heartfelt thank you to Clean-Up The Streets and the Norwich Free Academy football players who rolled up their sleeves for our Earth Day Clean Up on April 24.

Clean-Up The Streets is a coalition of concerned individuals, groups, and area businesses working alongside Reliance Health, Inc., Casella Waste Systems, St. Vincent de Paul Place Norwich, and The Last Green Valley — united by one goal: a cleaner Norwich.

Every block walked. Every piece picked up. Every hour given freely. It all adds up to something bigger than a clean street; it's a neighborhood that knows it's worth caring for.

Greeneville is lucky to have people like you in its corner. Thank you for showing up, putting in the work, and leaving this place a little better than you found it. 🌱

If you’ve been driving through Greeneville and hitting one-lane traffic on North Main St between 8th and 12th, here’s what’s going on.

Norwich Public Utilities is replacing old gas mains along Route 12. This is part of a larger infrastructure upgrade happening across the city (and state).

This kind of work usually happens before roads are repaved and restored, so while it may slow things down now, it’s part of longer-term improvements.

Want to follow projects like this?
Think of this as your quick guide:

🟢 Public Works & Capital Improvements Committee — roads + infrastructure
🟢 Public Safety Committee — traffic + active projects
🟢 Norwich City Council — decisions + funding
🟢 Greeneville Neighborhood Revitalization Zone — local updates

These updates are often discussed in meetings before they show up on the street.

Heads up, Greeneville!

New stop signs are now in place in both directions on Boswell Ave (Ruth St → Mohegan Park Rd) near the school construction entrance. They’re not just for the construction — these signs help keep kids safe as they walk home every day.

A big thank you to the Greeneville Youth Group for advocating for this! If you’d like to get involved, comment below, DM us, or come to the NRZ meeting TOMORROW (Wednesday, April 1st) at 6 PM at the firehouse, 444 Central Avenue. (NRZ meets every first Wednesday of the month at 6 PM.)

Let’s all take it slow, stay aware, and look out for each other!

Santa and the Grinch brought big smiles to the children at our Giving Tree event, where warm cocoa and cookies were a welcome treat in the chilly air, and more than 200 hats and mittens were happily chosen by adults and children alike.
