The W.R.A.P. Center is officially opening the doors to our daytime community space on June 1st, 2026 from 9am–5pm at 1 O’Hara Drive in Norwich. ❤️

This space was created for people to come inside, take a breath, get out of the elements, connect with resources, and feel welcomed without pressure or judgment. Through collaboration with local agencies, community members, and partners, the W.R.A.P. Center is focused on providing Warmth, Recovery, Assistance, and Hope to our community.

Whether someone needs support, connection, resources, or simply a safe place to exist for a while. You are welcome here.

All of us here at the CAC wanted to bring attention to the campaign we are starting for Water Safety.

Starting today and throughout June, we will be posting the photo below on a couple of billboards throughout Chenango and Madison County!

We to show the importance of water safety education and how it can prevent drownings and water-related accidents! Here are seven safety tips that are easy to teach and remember:

1. Supervise Children: Never leave children unattended near water; always be watching.

2. Learn to Swim: Make sure children that are in water know how to swim.

3. Know your Drains: Educate children to avoid any drains.

4. Ensure Compliance: Ensure all pools are conforming to drain cover regulations.

5. Install Safety Devices: Install barriers, covers and alarms.

6. Get Certified: Take the action of educating yourself on how to perform CPR on children and adults.

7. Take the Pledge: Take the Pool Safely Pledge stating you will follow the rules above to ensure water safety!

Yesterday, members of NYSCA and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services came together for the 2026 Central/Mohawk Regional Meeting.

Child Advocacy Center professionals from 12 counties—Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Onondaga, Tompkins, Tioga, Herkimer, Jefferson, Madison, Oneida, and Oswego—shared ideas and collaborated on strategies for the future.

We’re grateful for the insight, dedication, and partnership of this committed group of professionals working to protect children and strengthen communities.

We are so grateful to collaborate with so many amazing agencies that care about raising awareness for child abuse prevention 💙

Blue pinwheels are the national symbol of child abuse prevention, so we "planted" gardens under our school signs in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Prevent Child Abuse America introduced its "Pinwheels for Prevention" campaign in 2008 to raise awareness and remind us that all children deserve to grow up happy, healthy, and prepared to succeed in supportive families and communities.

We are grateful for our "Pinwheel Garden," planted by the Chenango County Child Advocacy Center (CAC), as a reminder that April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
