We’re celebrating the importance of National School Breakfast Week! For a simple way to help students stay full throughout the school day, our Community Nutrition Educator, Beth Seeley, suggests:

“Adding chopped apples, cinnamon or a spoonful of peanut butter to oatmeal while it's cooking. Drizzle on a little honey or maple syrup for a delicious & healthy quick start to the day.”

Studies show breakfast is the most important meal of the day 🍎 Hunger Solutions New York U.S. Department of Agriculture No Kid Hungry School Nutrition Association

FARMERS INVITED!
Here at Sherburne-Earlville Elementary School, we would like to say thanks to a very special group of people, our local farmers.

According to NationalDayCalendar.com, National Farmer’s Day was once called Old Farmer’s Day, and it has deep roots that go back to when agriculture was much more common in everyday life. Essentially, the day was set aside to thank farmers for their hard work and contribution to the economy. It is believed that agriculture is one of the world’s oldest industries, and the economies of many countries still rest squarely on the shoulders of the agricultural industry.

To show our appreciation, we would like to invite our local farmers to a special breakfast from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, in the Sherburne-Earlville Elementary Cafeteria.

Farmers, please let us know if you can attend by calling the Elementary Office at 607-674-7336 no later than March 16. We will need an accurate count for planning purposes.

Who: Local Farmers in the Sherburne-Earlville School District (i.e. dairy, beef, vegetable, crop, maple syrup, Christmas tree, etc.)
What: Farmers Appreciation Breakfast
When: Wednesday, April 4, 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Where: Sherburne-Earlville Elementary School Cafeteria
Hosted by: The 5th Grade Student Council and the High School AG Club
