Outreach to Haiti (OTH) helps Haitians help Haitians save and change the lives of the most vulnerable infants, children and families in Haiti. Initially conceived by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich, CT, OTH was build on a covenantal relationship with the people of Haiti. For close to 30 years, faith communities in U.S. and Haiti have come together in twinning relationships throughout the Arc
hdiocese of Port-au-Prince, which have fostered the economic growth and development of the Haitian communities and personal and faith lives of the U.S. and Haitian communities. Working closely together the twinned communities - in response to the stated needs of the Haitian communities - have built schools, medical clinics and potable water installations; sponsored the education of children, teens and young adults; provided education on clean water, hygiene and sanitation; supported livelihood and agriculture initiatives. In the city of Port-au-Prince, OTH provides education (school scholarships); medical care through an onsite clinic, mobile clinics, and medical missions; community outreach; a nutriton program; meals for the extremely impoverished; orphanage support; and supervision in a parish twinning program. IN Haiti OTH has two bases of operation -- the mission house in Petion-Ville which primarily supports the twinning program and education sponsorships of Petion-Ville students and the campus in the Christ Roi neighborhood of Port-au-Prince which primarily supports the primary care medical clinic, comprehensive nutrition program, education sponsorships of Christ Roi students, other programs in collaboration with partner agencies and general administration. base is in Norwich, CT, at the Diocese of Norwich.
