This event is our primary fundraiser and allows us to support school and community programs, award scholarships to graduating Norwell seniors and donate to the Norwell Food Pantry Norwell Recreation Department and other local organizations. At Celebrating Norwell, the Norwell Chamber of Commerce recognized Kristen Cardone as Citizen of the Year and Company Theatre Center for the Arts as Business of the Year. We also honored the community-wide response to the February winter storm. Each of our honorees embodies the spirit of community that makes Norwell such a special place.

ICYMI, our 2026 Citizen of the Year, Kristen Cardone, is on the cover of the May edition of Norwell Neighbors. Kristen sees Norwell as" a place where participation is part of the culture, where small efforts add up to something meaningful and where people consistently show up for one another. Norwell is a town where people don't just live, they participate." We couldn't agree more.

Again, congratulations Kristen and thank you for your leadership!

Afternoon with the Artist: Deborah Howard – Friday, May 29, 1–4 PM

Savage Godfrey Gallery presents Holding Ground, a three-artist exhibition exploring the relationship between landscape, memory, and place through the distinct practices of Nancy Cloonan, Deborah Howard, and Ilana Manolson. Together, their work reflects a shared commitment to observing and honoring the environments that shape both their practice and
perspective.

The opening reception of Holding Ground will be on Friday, May 8th from 6-8 pm, Nancy Cloonan, Deborah Howard and Ilana Manolson will be in attendance. The reception will coincide with the neighboring James Library Art Gallery’s reception for Scott Ketchum: The Wild Iris
