As we pause and reflect today, please remember all of innocent victims who lost their lives and the members of FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and the Emergency Medical Service providers who made the ultimate sacrifice, on this day 25 years ago.

On this night... 25 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation
for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation
for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in
preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in
preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation
for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00am
Sept 11, 2001. In the blink of an eye, their lives were cut short. Tonight, as you prepare for bed in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.
We will never forget.

The Norwell Fire Department is offering free home safety inspections for Norwell's older residents, including smoke and CO2 detectors, grab bars, and other safety concerns. Inspections are available through Monday, August 31 and can be scheduled by call Capt. Sean Ford at 781-659-8158.

This program is made possible through a Senior Safe Grant.

The passing of a single firefighter is tremendously difficult and unfortunate. Three line of duty deaths this close to home is almost unthinkable.

Behind every uniform is a person. In this case husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, friends and members of professional community.

From all of us at Local 2700, our hearts are with their departments and every firefighter across Massachusetts who is suffering.

May their families find peace and know that their names and memories will not be forgotten.
