Let's talk about the real MVPs of the weekend.
DTN President Chad and Vice President Sanj are what make events like these shine. It may have been just 4-6 hours on race day to you, but dozens if not hundreds of hours go into the planning and prep behind the scenes, not including the time dedicated by other volunteers! These are people with jobs and kids, who are spending sleepless nights, often working alone, to make sure everything is perfect. From Chad building the PM500 trophies in his basement, and Sanj stuffing and organizing packets solo so pick up could run as smooth as possible, to knowing which permits to fill out & when, and which volunteer to assign the right tasks to, we would be lost without them. Leading up to these events these two may not ride their bike or run for weeks, setting aside their love of the trails with their love for the trails.
Sanj and Chad Inspire the rest of our volunteers to make these and all DTN events perfect for people like you. Next time you see the DTN running an event, consider reaching out to ask how you can make their load a little lighter, what you can do to support the trails, and maybe together we can host more amazing events like this in the future.
