It is with profound sadness that the Birzeit Society mourns the passing of one of Palestine’s most beloved and iconic artists, Sliman Mansour, a proud son of Birzeit whose extraordinary art became a powerful symbol of Palestinian identity, heritage, steadfastness, and our enduring connection to our homeland.

Through his brush, Sliman carried Palestine to the world. His unforgettable works, including the iconic Jamal Al Mahamel (Depicting Palestinian people hardship under occupation), told the story of our people, our land, our struggles, and our hope. His legacy will live on not only through his art, but in the hearts of generations of Palestinians whom he inspired.

The Birzeit Society extends its deepest condolences to the Mansour family, his loved ones, the people of Birzeit, and Palestinians throughout the world. Birzeit and Palestine have lost a true cultural treasure, but his art and legacy will live forever.

May his memory be eternal. Rest in peace, Sliman Mansour.
