Get ready for a night full of laughs as we welcome Amer Zahr to the stage for Comedy Night!

Amer Zahr is a Palestinian Arab American comedian, speaker, writer, academic, and adjunct professor at University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He draws on his experiences growing up as a child of Palestinian refugees, performing and lecturing on topics like politics, society, culture, identity, Palestine, Islam, and more. Amer has headlined multiple tours at world-famous venues including Carnegie Hall and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The comedy show will take place following the Friday night banquet, so stick around for more entertainment!

The Birzeit Society National Meeting was held this past weekend (February 21 & 22, 2026 ) in Tampa, Florida as a hybrid gathering, with members attending both in person and virtually, to prepare for the upcoming national convention and address important society business. Attendees reviewed plans, coordinated committees, and discussed key initiatives to strengthen the organization and enhance community engagement across chapters nationwide. We thank the volunteers who traveled and the Florida group headed by the convention’s chairperson David Ishaq for graciously hosting and welcoming our board. Special Thanks to Saleem & Diana Musallam for hosting the “Friday Night Dinner” at their home.
