WHY ME would like to thank all of our volunteers and our sponsors for a great event on December 9th at the Norwalk Eagles 711. We also want to thank Eagles for the great food and allowing us to use their facility for this event! By the photos below I believe everyone had a great time! We will do this again in the future!

With the raffles, 50/50, pull tabs, & the sponsors we were able to raise nearly $10,000 to help our cause! Again, we want to thank our event sponsor Ken Ganley Auto, Durable Corporation, Colahan Dentistry, Fisher's Country Market, Insight Type & Graphics, Nobil's Sports & Trophies, Millers Grocery, D&D Smith Winery, Stone Earth Company Inc, Wakeman Elevator, Bill & Beth Goodsite, Wasiniak Construction Inc, Stein, Olsen, & Stang LLC, and many others who donated items to put in raffles: Jen White of Blooming Lillies, White's Automotive, Marjie's Mutts, Yolanda Walton, Ohio Wine Producers, JoAnn Solnick, Brandi Roeder, West Side Sunoco, Schilds IGA, & Mindy's Glam Squad!

Not only will it be used for gas cards, & care packages, but it will be a start to an educational event coming up next year to help us all learn how to reduce our risk of getting breast cancer. It's not just doing the monthly exam yourself. It's about so much more! We'll be looking for some holistic type speakers to help at this next event coming in 2026.

D & D Smith Winery is hosting bingo to raise funds for WHY ME this Saturday Oct 4th 1-5(games start at 1 so come anytime after 12) in side yard, October 28th at D&D 5-9, November 25th at D&D 5-9p, and December 30th at D&D 5-9p. For Tuesday nights doors open at 5pm games start at 6pm. Don't forget our Christmas Purse Bingo December 9th at Eagles doors open 4:30, early bird 5:30, first game at 6p. WHY ME is a breast cancer support and education 501c3 looking to help those in treatment as well as those who may need assistance with preventative appointments.

I am in need of volunteers for our first ever BINGO at D&D's Fall Festival Oct 4th! Bingo is 1-4 and as it's our first with a BINGO LICENSE I have no idea how we will do as far as participation. If you can give up an hour or two or 3 please reach out to me 419-577-0128. Thank you!

Please do some research on "Fungus" and how this is a contributing factor in cancer diagnosis as well as maybe misdiagnosed as cancer when it's fungus.

Interesting

New research shows that avoiding the preservatives parabens & phthalates for just 28 days reverses cancer-related changes in breast tissue.

The study was published in Chemosphere.

Researchers analyzed breast tissue samples before and after a 28 day period, revealing significant reversals of cancer-associated phenotypes. These changes included alterations in key cellular pathways such as PI3K-AKT/mTOR, autophagy, and apoptotic signaling, which are all linked to cancer development.

The study suggests that even short-term avoidance of these chemicals may have a measurable impact on breast tissue at the molecular level.

Parabens and phthalates are widely used as preservatives and fragrance enhancers in cosmetics and personal care products, but they also act as xenoestrogens — synthetic compounds that mimic estrogen in the body.

Since estrogen plays a role in breast cancer development, reducing exposure to these chemicals may help lower the risk of cancer-related cellular changes. This research underscores the importance of choosing products free from harmful endocrine disruptors and highlights a potential preventive strategy against breast cancer.
