On Wednesday, April 29, Comunidades Sin Fronteras CT participated in the 2026 Spring Symposium: *No Barriers, No Limits: Access to Education in Connecticut*. We extend our thanks to the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) for inviting our organization.
This symposium brought together educators, policymakers, advocates, students, and community leaders from across Connecticut, where we engaged in critical conversations regarding equity in education. The event focused on identifying the structural, social, and policy-related barriers that continue to limit equitable access to educational opportunities—particularly for historically underserved and marginalized communities.
Key topics of discussion included:
• Disparities in educational funding and resource allocation across school districts.
• The intersection between school discipline policies and the juvenile justice system.
• Student mental health, school climate, and the sense of belonging.
• Policy reform, advocacy strategies, and fostering equity in education.
