Even though I have a lot on my plate...I try hard to spend time doing something I enjoy every day. This week I finished this wonderful tote. Needed some happiness on our new cancer journey. I try to take binding to work on in our hotel or if we have a lot of wait times during infusion labs. Not For Sale.

At our January meeting we talked about sewing intensions and resolutions. I have been putting off this quilt for 3 months. (I really dislike sewing flannel.) Today I finished my first intention for the year. I am ready to send this to be quilted. Not thrilled that I will still need to do binding. But this quilt is off my design wall.
Happy New Year! What are you hoping to accomplish this Year? On my list for this year is to try a new sampler quilt using the Jodi Barrows method. And to do a calendar block of the month from 2020 that is taking up a lot of storage space.

Going to teach a class on this in Long Island in January....you can use yardage or a layer cake plus yardage. (Personally, I like the yardage, as I love digging in my stash...and most of us have a stash!)

I have never considered this. May be worth looking at and trying.https://www.facebook.com/share/17vXcZMTug/

1979 changed quilting forever. But few quilters know how it's affecting their quilting life today. Even experienced quilters or Instructors have no idea how.Read OurSeam Allowance Story: Everything Was Cut With Scissors & Templates,Not Rulers & Rotary Cutters. Everything Used to FitPerfectly....

So, attempting to make the 2025 Solstice Sampler. Picked Block Number 2 to start off...hardest block I have ever attempted. I am doing mine with my stash. So not planned and will have a variety of backgrounds...the pictures of the parts are all the mistakes (so many). I hope I finish.

I feel like I have been working forever on this one...when I started, I thought it was a big lap sized quilt. It is NOT. This one finished at 87"x97". Not sure what I was thinking not checking the size chart...lol the snowman is over 5' 4"....I know this because I layed down and took my picture and his hat was above my head. But the pattern was well written by Lori Holt called The Quilted Snowman...but I am titling mine "Don't Eat Yellow Snow...Things My Uncle Jim Told Me". Enjoy!

Today I took the time to organize my completed tops...I have 87..(at least that is how many i found)...I organized them so I know which need to be commerical quilted and which I can do myself. Probably 30 i need someone else to quilt but the rest I can do myself. So I got 3 sandwiched together today to start the process to whittle them down to a more managable amount.

Hope that you all are getting out to see the fair quilts. We had 40 enteries this year and there were a lot of good enteries. We even had a 9 yr old who entered in open class her first quilt. We hope she does another quilt soon.
