Welcome, Payton!

We're so excited to have Payton interning with us this summer, as part of the Nex-Generation Round Up for Youth program. She is already adding so much value to our office and preparations for Match Day. Looking forward to a great summer!

In addition to the scholarships awarded to graduating seniors at the NCHS Senior Awards Assembly, the Norton County Community Foundation also administers several scholarship funds that support students throughout their college journey.

Congratulations to Jaelyn Rumback, Rylie Linner, and Traxton Ragland on receiving the Gladys M. Harper Memorial Scholarship! This scholarship supports NCHS graduates who are continuing their education and entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of college. Recipients must be enrolled full-time and remain in good academic standing.

We are proud to support these students as they continue pursuing their educational goals!

We were proud to provide a $5,000 grant in support of the Logan Rural Fire District’s Firehouse Project. (Logan Community Development Foundation, Inc.)

The Logan Rural Fire District provides fire protection and emergency response services to nearly 100 residents and multiple landowners throughout Norton County.

This partnership is also meaningful because nearly one-third of the department’s members are Norton County residents, and two of the five members on the Rural Fire District Board also call Norton County home.

Thank you for all you do to help keep our communities safe!

Congratulations Beyond the Match Foundation on receiving grant funding! Based in Norton County, their programming will support disrupted adoptions with financial grants and emotional support services.

They have also established an endowment fund and will be participating in Match Day (June 24)!

We want to give a HUGE thank you to the Norton County Community Foundation and the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation for supporting Beyond the Match Foundation with a grant to help build our very first disruption grant award. 🖤
Their investment in our mission means we are one step closer to providing meaningful financial and emotional support to adoptive families navigating the heartbreak of a failed adoption. The Norton Community Foundation does so many incredible things for our community, and Norton continues to thrive because of organizations like theirs that are committed to giving back and creating lasting impact. We are also honored to share that Beyond the Match Foundation is now part of their Endowment Fund Program, and we are excited to participate in Match Day this June! 🎉
Thank you, Norton Community Foundation, for believing in our mission and helping us support families through some of life’s hardest moments.

Thank you to these volunteers for their help with the North Star Nutrition program during the last 9 weeks of school! We truly appreciate your time and efforts:

Jill Lively
Sharon Smothers
Cheri Renner
Glenda Maurer
Jordan Sprigg
Remi Dreher's FACS class
Janelle Morel

This was our first year of the program, which provides a healthy snack to each Kindergarten student every day of the school year. Needless to say, the kiddos LOVED the program and were always so excited to find out what the day's snack was!

The intention was not just to provide JOY, but also nutritional education, collaboration (with the HS FACS class), and community support (volunteers). We also hoped to eliminate one financial and logistical stressor for families.

Because the fund is endowed, we'll be able to continue it next year! And eventually we'd love to expand the program to include more grade levels.

If you'd like to make a donation to the program, please plan on doing so on Match Day (June 24) so your impact can go further!

THANK YOU!
