What a good day.
We had 180 entrants in our first (yeah - it'll be annual) ice fishing tournament, and we hope everyone had as much fun as we did.
By most accounts - the bite was hot. There weren't a lot of whoppers, but lots of fish were caught. We ended up taking in and measuring a couple hundred fish that made it back down the holes, and of all of those we measured, here's how the final standings ended up.
Perch
1st place - Ryder Ness - 13 inches
2nd place - Tanner Cordahl - 12.6 inches
3rd place - Taryn Winkler - 12.5 inches
Walleye
1st place - Colton Peifer - 15.5 inches
2nd place - Dakota Maruska - 9.8 inches
3rd place - Chad Verke - 9 inches
We did not have any northerns or bullheads caught, but there were a few bluegills pulled through the ice.
We can't thank you all enough - Jake and his crew at Golden Lake for hosting us, all of our sponsors, those behind the scenes who had the lake access plowed and accessible, and all the fishermen who came out.
See you all again in 2027🎣
