Short Road trip day to take a Jeep full of dresses and supplies to Dress A Girl Around the World from Etown, PA .
When I started with Dress a girl around the world 14 years ago. I was the only Ambassador in Pennsylvania.
Now I feel good knowing that Dress a girl is going strong in other parts of PA.

I'm stepping into a different phase of my journey with Dress a Girl around the world PA chapter. as im Stepping back as an official ambassador .For now anyway. Im located in Northumberland PA.
So if you need dresses to carry to those on need please reach out to @ Dress A Girl Around the World from Etown PA.
Of course my heart wouldn't be able to handle not being involved in some way still. So I will still be involved. But I won't be the distributor and collection point so to speak. .

Lots of reasons emotions have resulted in this decision .But I'm also grateful for all that's been accomplished and continues to be accomplished. The hearts that have been touched the lives that have been blessed. Including mine as I took this journey through so many phases of my life. Cancer, Chemo, surgeries, and other health issues.And many life events.
As I chatted with a friend this week as I struggled with emotions she said ".New phases In life are ok and that I shouldn't feel bad that I need to make a shift in my journey of life .

Renita and other amazing ladies working hard in Elizabethtown PA.

It’s been a crazy good week at DAG. We had 6 ladies on Tuesday sewing and getting dresses ready for the ladies on Thursday. There were 14 ladies on Thursday and a total of 117 dresses were added to our supply. Quality Control was super busy due to the dresses that were closed from the Keystone Moms Group last week. Multiple ladies pitched in to finish the QA work. 259 dresses were donated - what a BLESSING!

20 dresses are going out to Uganda this week and next week the 150 mentioned in a previous post will be going to Ghana. More dresses are waiting for homes. If your church or mission has a need please contact us.

We’re keeping in our thoughts and prayers those ladies who couldn’t make it to DAG this week due to health and family concerns.

Excellent guide for making masks. No video to watch or have to pause etc.
Keep on sewing folks they are in great need.
Fabric ties/ bias ties can be added on the sides etc. Either threaded through the casings on the sides. Or made as one long strap of 40" each side incasing the pleats at the sides.

This description is based on the pattern suggested on the Humboldt Coronavirus Mask Makers page. There are different needs for different areas so please check with your local hospital for what their requirements are. Information is in flux, so this is what I understand is the most needed

Please locals or anyone that can sew and has supplies to make masks will you please please please help out even if it is only to make a few! They are needed. I have been inundated with requests for them. And we are working hard to full fill the requests
Time for us sewist to use supplies you have on hand. 100% quilter like Cotton's are best.
We have a network of people sewing . But the requests are swamping us.
I am off to sew now but we check back online later tonight.
Elastic is in short supply do long ties can be added each side instead of elastic.

In these trying times Dress a girl here in central PA is switching gears a little.
So will be making these this week onwards
I know they do not replace the N 95 masks.
Any hospitals or nursing homes, in central PA especially that need them please let me know.
Or other areas too and I will try to get you connected to those that are in your area.
I am connected to many people willing to sew that I work with through Dress a girl. And we will be switching gears right now to sew these.
So if you know of directors of nursing homes. Or hospital staff etc that need them.
Please if you make them do not bombard hospitals etc until you know the need for them.
And our woman( and men) are a force to be reckoned with when there is a need. We will get plenty made and distributed through our Network of people. So put us to work.
I know a lot of my friends have spouse that work in the medical field . So please contact me directly for your needs.
Those in other states please contact dress a girl ambassadors in your own states. I am sure they are more than willing to sew. So if you know nursing homes hospitals in your areas. It would be a lot easier to distribute in those states from people sewing there.

Locals I also have supplies and patterns that can be picked up to sew if you want to . It will be porch pick up and drop off.

Those that are please reach out and ask hospitals and nursing homes in your area first if their is a need before bombarding them.

Also at this time I will not be accepting dress donations . This will vary from state to state.
But we personally do not have people travelling and do also do not have the means to store large numbers of dresses. If you have dresses sewn please keep them with you at this present time. Please do not drop dresses on my porch.

So such great update on Autumn Senas girl scout gold award project.
Autumn had such great support in her 100 dresses goal. That she actually ended up with more than she could carry. So Autumns amazing Mom helped by having dresses shipped to a mission in Cambodia.
And they were given to them as part of their Christmas. The mission director shared a picture of Autumn with the girls.
This is why we sew!!!.
Have the tissues ready as this will touch your heart. Maybe you may even see a dress that you were a part of.
Huge hugs to all those that to continue to bless the lives of girls near and far.

Had lots of fun meeting and working with the ladies of the Mission Stitchers of the First United Methodist Church in Muncy PA.
We worked on reusable sanitary pads.
Such a sweet group of woman working for many worthy causes. They meet the second Saturday of every month.
I am so blessed to meet such amazing people!
Angels here on Earth. I will be back.

I wrote on the event page. But thought I would share here too.
Thank you so so much for all that attended lour event ast night. For Autumn's Girl scout Gold award.
We were a mighty force to be reckoned with. Over 30 people attending even if some just stopped by to get Instructions to sew at home.
Your support for Autumn's project and Dress a girl as a whole is greatly appreciated. And we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We don't have a finally tally of dresses just yet as some took some home to finish up. But we will update soon.
My heart is swelling today . And I am just imagining all the girls that will be blessed by your efforts.

I also work locally and here in the US as well as many countries. Here at dress a girl PA chapter we help dress babies in the NICU, donate towards women's shelters.as well as Enriching the lives of women and girls as we get together and sew and create for those in need.
Friendships are made as we come together for a common cause.

Thank you so so much for those that have donated or shared the link so far. We are up to over $115 towards our goal. We have people willing to help construct the shed labor free. But we still need the supplies or shed kit to do so.

After much prayer and discussion with other Dress a girl volunteers.
Having a separate storage shed / building . Would help us so so much. It would be a life saver and a sanity saver.
