Thursday, September 3rd is Art Night! Join us from 5-8 PM at Kentuck Art Center.🎨✨

If you missed the opening of John “Jahni” Moore’s exhibition, “In the Spirit,” you’ll have another chance to experience this incredible exhibition during September Art Night.

“Every time I paint with red clay, I feel as though I am working with a living substance, not merely pigment, but memory. Not simply a medium or earth, but inheritance. To me, this clay carries the breath of those who came before us. It holds labor, joy, suffering, resilience, migration, worship, survival, and love. It remembers what history often forgets, reinterprets, or in some cases seeks to erase. When I paint with it, I am not attempting to imitate life. I am awakening it and awakening us to it. This is a space where cosmology, geology, ancestry, and spirituality intersect.” - John “Jahni” Moore

The 55th Kentuck Festival of the Arts is excited to welcome back Jon Osborne as a 2026 Guest Artist and participant in our Artists in Schools program! You can find Jon in Booth E-11 on October 17–18 at Snow Hinton Park in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

About Jon Osborne:
Jon Osborne is a Contemporary Self-Taught Artist from Birmingham, Alabama. Jon's artwork is "Music meets art storytelling." In 2019, Jon suffered a traumatic brain injury and acquired "music to color synesthesia," a condition where he sees colors and patterns when he hears sounds, which he incorporates into his paintings. Osborne uses Buddhist meditations and flow state in his creative process to experience art as healing. While deeply inspired by music, his art explores raw emotions, feelings, and perceptions while also illustrating the world and the human experience.
