Please help us finish the Welcome Center! Join us any Saturday. Currently, we are sanding, priming and painting the trim and doors. When the weather is nice, some volunteers will be outside getting the grounds cleaned up.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet Marie 🌟

Marie is our Student Support Coordinator in Northport Schools and has been with CISNEW for 5 years. She holds a BS in Organizational Leadership and proudly served 20 years in the U.S. Navy.

Marie works to give back to the community she grew up in and support students who need a little extra love. She is focused on increasing parent engagement in Northport and strengthening family-school connections.

Outside of work, Marie enjoys crafting with natural materials, gardening, hiking, and hunting. She is a proud member of the Spokane Tribal Network, is learning ancestral skills, and is active in the and .

In Northport, families need basic supports like clothing, hygiene items, food, and consistent care — especially for those living off-grid, where winters can be especially challenging.

After removing the flooring on Sunday, here is the current view.

We have the best volunteers! We ripped out almost 500 square feet of flooring on Sunday. This was the original fir flooring but had a layer of glue we could not remove. We tried everything! So, out it went with pry bars and hammers and awesome volunteers. Now we will replace it with 3” tongue and groove fir, just like the original. We were able to refinish two adjoining rooms that did not have tile glued on them. Please give us a like and remember, if you aren’t able to volunteer, you can always donate😊

We are making so much progress. Last weekend, 13 volunteers showed up! We are getting all the woodwork ready for painting. Next weekend, January 31st, we will continue. Come join us at 10 am. We only work 2 hours then have lunch and a visit. So much fun! Let us know if you’re coming so we have enough food.
